Metro Vancouver is home to some beautiful and inspiring locations such as Stanley Park, Granville Island, Van Dusen Gardens, Coal Harbour and the three local mountains, to name just a few. We are also a hub for technology, and have seen significant growth in the other STEAM fields of Science, Engineering, Art, & Design and Math.
Learners in Metro Vancouver have access to more STEAM resources, programming and opportunities than anywhere else in BC, but we are also home to the most diverse population in BC, and many learners have to overcome multiple barriers to access those resources.
We would also like to acknowledge that the region’s residents live, work, and learn on the shared territories of many Indigenous peoples, including 10 local First Nations: Katzie, Kwantlen, Kwikwetlem, Matsqui, Musqueam, Qayqayt, Semiahmoo, Squamish, Tsawwassen, and Tsleil-Waututh.
