Science Odyssey Week encourages education and fun.
Science Odyssey Week runs from May 7 to 22 and a full range of activities will create awareness about the authentic interconnected relationships between science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). “STEAM is critical to everything we do, from the home and school, to the workplace, and out in the community,” said Tobias Blaskovits, Central Okanagan Public Schools District STEAM Learning Consultant, and a member of STEAM Ecosystem BC. “We believe Science Odyssey Week is a tremendous opportunity for residents of all ages to learn more about STEAM, and to connect with the regional opportunities available in the Okanagan,” added Dione Chambers, executive director of the Okanagan Science Centre in Vernon. Science Odyssey Week activities range from at home science experiments, virtual workshops, interactive resources, and regional specific community activities. Activities range daily and are available for all age groups. An interactive resource/events calendar can be found at . A full list of activities for Science Odyssey week across Canada can be found at http://www.sciod.ca/. Partial funding has been made available through NSERC PromoScience supplements for Science Odyssey Week.
